M.M. Kamani priyangika is bright student in Balangoda Damahana School. She is very clever in studies and extracurricular activities.
She is studying in Advance level class in Arts. She has won the first place in 800m, 1500m and 5000m in Balangoda zonal sports meet. She became second in 800m and 1500m and she won the first place in Sabaragamuwa provincial level. She has kept a new record in Sabaragamuwa provincial level.
She took part in all in Island school athletic meet which was held in September -2011 in Sugathadasa stadium. She represented Sabaragamuwa province. She was able to won the 4th place in 5000 m race.
She lives in a rural village called Mawela near to Damahana. She is the eldest one of a family of two children. Her parents do farming. Her brother is a student. She is doing her sports activities and studies amidst so many difficulties. She is an efficient student indeed.
She was able to win these victories because of the training and the dedication of the physical education teacher, Mr. K.R.M.A. Gunasekara. She expresses this honorably.
If anybody is ready to fulfill the basic facilities of children like these it will be a great investment for fortune of sports in Sri Lanka.

Sport meet
Considering about the athletic of Balangoda region, Damahana at the highest top the reason for that, there are so many athletes who have come to championship. The athletes who have shown their talents are born in Damahana region. Among many difficulties they have done vatiettes of events successfully.
Specially Damahana school in Ratnapura district is always helpful to the children in Damahana to come to the upper level. This year inter house meet sports was begun and whole students and the teachers were divided in to three houses Gamunu, Gajaba and parakum.
